Jack R. Merchant, a Fulbright Scholar with a Ph.D. in History and over 15 years of teaching experience, designs and instructs all AP courses at THINK. Dr. Merchant offers both tutoring for AP classes and preparation for AP exams. Tutoring courses are developed according to the specific needs of each student or small group. Test preparation courses focus on three areas: multiple-choice questions, essays, and content preparation. Dr. Merchant shows students how to interpret and answer each type of multiple-choice question they will encounter on AP history and political science exams. He also guides students through writing workshops covering the Document-Based Question, Change-over-Time Essay, Comparison Essay, Long Essay Question, Short-Answer Questions, and Free-Response Questions. In addition, students are taught how to tailor their studies to be best prepared for the content of the exam. Our AP courses provide each student elite training that fosters understanding, improved grades, and excellent exam results.
